The 20th anniversary tour of “Rent” has an entirely different group of wild young Bohemians than the one that visited New Haven’s Shubert and the Waterbury Palace in recent seasons. Any live stage version of “Rent" has lots of things going for it that might not have been clear from the recent TV production — the ingenious multi-level staging, the vibrant pop/rock theatrics and such a large and diverse group of central characters that you often don’t know where to look.
“Rent” rolls into The Bushnell, 166 Capitol Ave., Hartford, March 12 to 17. Performances are Tuesday through Thursday at 7:30 p.m.; Friday at 8 p.m.; Saturday at 2 and 8 p.m.; and Sunday at 1 and 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $23 to $131. 860-987-5900, bushnell.org.
